The Unity Church of Christ is a group of New Testament Christians who worship and serve God. We are located in the Taft community in southwest Lincoln County, Tennessee. We place in God, and His Son, complete faith and dependence, and seek to please Him by following His precepts revealed in His Word. We are not Catholic, Protestant, nor Jew and have no human creed. We are New Testament Christians committed to the Bible as the all-sufficient and verbally inspired word of God. We invite you to visit and worship with us at the Unity church of Christ.
When you visit the Unity church of Christ, we hope that you will find a welcoming congregation of God’s people. During the worship service, we strive to follow the pattern found in the New Testament and to worship as Jesus taught in John 4:24: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
In our worship assemblies, you can expect to see the following acts of worship based on the accompanying scripture reference:
The Lord’s Supper: The memorial feast of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine is observed each Lord’s Day in commemoration of Christ’s death (Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:23-26).
Congregational Singing: Vocal songs of praise, encouragement, and education in spiritual truths (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).
Preaching: Simple and understandable studies from God’s word to exhort, rebuke, and build faith (2 Tim. 4:1-4).
Prayer: Humble appeals of petition and thankfulness to God through Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42; I Thess. 5:17).
Voluntary Contribution: A freewill collection from among the members each Lord’s Day to carry out the spiritual work of the church (I Cor. 16:1-2; II Cor. 9:6-7).
Our mission statement is found in the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-47).
We strive to keep His mission alive in preaching the gospel, edifying His church, and reflecting His glory in us through love and good works (Matt. 5:16; Gal. 6:9-10).
The works we support reflect this mission. We are currently supporting the preaching of the gospel in ten countries around the world and plan to do more!
Our hope is in "Jesus Christ, the hope of glory" (Col. 1:27). We strive to honor God in our relationship with Him as our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We seek God's presence and guidance as we pray for His help, learn His will, and grow in His grace and knowledge.
Our church family not only shares in worship and service, but also in fellowship. We believe in supporting one another and stirring up love and good works in each other (Heb. 10:24).
We also enjoy eating together most Sundays between our morning and afternoon services.
